I recently heard the Canadian singer-songwriter, who hails from Kitchener, at a wonderful house concert is east Toronto. I didn’t know then but Alysha Brilla was recently nominated for the 2014 Juno, Canada’s yearly musical award. Her music is fresh and upbeat, integrating many ethnic musical styles and interesting vocal work. The video has beautiful imagery of women from all ethnic backgrounds.
